MY VERDICT: Bianca stepped out on the red carpet for the premiere of “Clouds of Sils Maria”, held this evening in Cannes, France for the annual Cannes Film Festival. The movie served as one of the final screenings for the two-week-long festival.
The Italian model selected one of my favorite dresses from the Chanel archives; a blue violet v-neck silk-chiffon paneled floor length dress from the Spring/Summer 2012 Haute Couture line, which features gorgeous sapphire jewel embroidery at the shoulders, beneath the bust and banded just below the hips. I actually had this dress on my Cannes Wish List two years ago, but unfortunately my long wait to see it worn was proven to be anticlimactic.
I’m not sure if it’s the fact that Bianca wore flashy silver flat sandals with it rather than a shoe in a coordinating color, or because the panels spread too far to reveal the nude slip underneath, but I wasn’t as captivated as I was when I saw it on the runway.
That being said, the strappy back of the dress stole the show as the most stunning part.
Violet stone and diamond drop earrings and a twisted up-do provided her finishing touches.
